Keep 2 old bath mats or fabric/plastic car mats in your trunk/vehicle storage area. If you get stuck, you can place them so they slip under the wheels (as the wheels start to spin) and give the tires some traction to help you get on your way.
Kitty litter or a bag of lime (from a farm supply store) or sand kept in a plastic large mouth jug (like pet food comes in-also a good way to reuse these containers)are all good items to choose from to have in your vehicle to help you get moving again. The plastic jug will save you from spilled product in your trunk/vehicle as can happen with a bag or bucket. It will also be kept dry and is easy to apply, by pouring it by the tires. With the large lid, it is easy to open with gloves or mittens or cold hands.
